Solar Step By Step

Picture
Step 1: Pre-Proposal

We work with landowners, and power off takers. The process is much the same, but our clients seek different outputs.

Commercial rooftop is primarily undertaken by our sister company 3GEN Renewables whilst Indygen focuses on large scale utility plants.

Working with landowners to maximise rental value and therefore the underlying value of your land. We are able to pay rental rates for land well in advance of the commercial rate.

This rate varies in our countries of operation, but it is generally well in excess of any other available revenue stream. Typically our lease contracts range from 30-40 years, and are the best land investment available. Where construction development is not available.

When evaluating site opportunities we use; the latest software, techniques, our extensive experience, and creativity, to develop the viability of a proposal of optimal size.

We will look to coordinate with the grid operator, and local businesses who can offtake the power produced at a local level.

We evaluate all available; lands, buildings, metering/connection points, considering alternative technology, integration, and advanced hybrid model structures. This gives us a full assessment of the renewable potential.

Then we can put together a commercial offering to maximise rental value, on site electricity savings which includes;
Delete battery - and install Rental Rate payable.

Step 2: Full Site Survey

We undertake a full site survey, this will normall take 2-3 hours. You wil have the opportunity to meet with your designated account manager, and ask any questions you may have about any aspect of the process.
  • Access arrangements for vehicles and plant
  • Assessment for planning consents (Environmental, ecological, visual impact, local area considerations)
  • Land use/Grading
  • Roof Access where applicable
  • Electrical interconnection
  • Health and Safety

Step 3: The Proposal

Assuming the outcome of the site survey is all good, we will return to you with a formal proposal. Plus heads of terms establishing the commercial agreement

This proposal will include much more detail around how we would proceed with the project. Plus how long the install should take & Much more helpful information to enable a smooth process.

Step 4: Land Rights

Based on the agreement we establish in the Heads of terms. We will work with you to enter into An Option to Lease agreement. This is a draft form of lease agreement, setting out all the relevant roles and responsibilities. Including all necessary protections of your interest, and establishing the rental figures in contract.

The option agreement establishes a right for us to enter into the lease once all permissions are achieved. This is necessary because the application process we enter into can be in excess of $1m. To make this level of investment, we need security that we have a binding agreement to rent the land.

 We fund all costs associated with this, including your legal fees.

Step 5: Planning Permission

The planning process can be quite lengthy, lasting around 12 months in duration. This is a costly process that involves; the gathering of information, preparation of reports relating to the potential impact of any development. Plus how it will be sensitively managed, or bring improvements in areas such as;
  • Environmental
  • Ecological
  • Heritage
  • Landscape and Visual Impact
  • Areas of Specific Interest
  • Local Resident Consultation
  • Community Benefits

Step 6: Construction
We enter into a lease agreement, and start construction shortly thereafter. Thus having the appropriate permissions in place, we move into the construction phase.

Aiming to get the job done as efficiently as possible.

The site should be of minimal disruption, and provide long running investment grade income for many years to come.
